Plant Engineer – Confectionery

About the role

Provide engineering leadership for a confectionery manufacturing plant, overseeing maintenance, utilities, reliability and continuous improvement to ensure safe, efficient and cost‑effective operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance programmes for processing, packaging and utility equipment.
• Lead root‑cause analysis of breakdowns, improve MTBF/MTTR and implement reliability‑centered maintenance.
• Manage plant utilities (water, steam, compressed air, refrigeration, HVAC, power) to guarantee ≥98% availability.
• Ensure critical spare‑part availability, control inventory and maintain engineering spend within budget.
• Plan, coordinate and commission engineering projects, new equipment installations and capacity expansions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
• 7‑10 years of engineering/maintenance experience in FMCG, with at least 5 years in confectionery, chocolate or related food manufacturing.
• Proven supervisory or management experience leading maintenance and reliability teams.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, PLCs, automation, sensors, drives and control systems.
• Experience with preventive, predictive and reliability‑centered maintenance methodologies.
• Utilities management expertise (refrigeration, chillers, boilers, compressed‑air, HVAC).
• Proficiency with SAP maintenance modules or equivalent CMMS.
• Root‑cause analysis, TPM, Lean Manufacturing and 5S implementation.
