Program Development Manager

About the role

The Program Development Manager will support the Impact, Innovation and Influencing Director and country programme staff to grow Save the Children’s funding and partnerships in Kenya. The role leads the end‑to‑end proposal development process, ensuring proposals are responsive, competitive and delivered on time.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, writing and submission of funding proposals in line with the Country Strategic Plan.
• Coordinate with Programme Quality & Development, Operations and Finance teams to integrate technical designs and budgets.
• Develop and implement donor engagement plans and maintain continuous learning from proposal outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding and vetting procedures for staff interacting with children.
• Provide rapid response and flexible working during major humanitarian emergencies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in proposal development, fundraising or grant management within the humanitarian or development sector.
• Strong ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent coordination skills across technical, finance, operations and senior management teams.
• Demonstrated agile leadership and capacity to build relationships with donors and partners.
