Project Officer – ALIGN Adolescent Health & Nutrition

About the role

The ALIGN initiative seeks a Project Officer to support the scaling of proven adolescent health and nutrition innovations across up to 12 African countries. Working under the Project Manager at The Youth Café, you will coordinate technical assistance, grant management and stakeholder engagement for civil society and youth‑led organisations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support packages to CSOs and YLOs, including capacity assessments, mentorship and programme design.
• Manage sub‑grant administration, monitoring and reporting for funded innovators.
• Facilitate policy dialogues and youth engagement mechanisms such as youth councils and social listening channels.
• Coordinate the Cross‑Country Community of Practice, organising peer‑learning events and knowledge‑exchange activities.
• Support the integration of innovations into national health systems through stakeholder convenings and documentation of scaling lessons.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of experience in project management or grant administration within health, nutrition or development contexts.
• Demonstrated experience working with civil society organisations and youth‑led groups in African settings.
• Strong understanding of adolescent health and nutrition challenges and interventions.
• Ability to travel occasionally to target countries and work in a hybrid/online environment.
