Projects Assistant

About the role

Tenwek Hospital is seeking a Projects Assistant to support the planning, coordination, and implementation of project activities across the organization. The role works closely with the Project Officer to ensure project schedules, deliverables, and stakeholder communications are effectively managed.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules, work plans, activity plans, and trackers.
• Coordinate meetings, workshops, and stakeholder engagements, and follow up on assigned actions.
• Maintain calendars of project milestones, deliverables, and key dates.
• Support preparation of project correspondence, briefs, presentations, and reports.
• Track project performance data, risks, issues, and maintain related registers.
• Liaise with internal departments and external partners to secure resources and resolve procurement needs.
• Monitor project deliverables for compliance with standards, policies, and procedures.
• Undertake research to aid project planning and decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Healthcare Management, Business Administration, Public Health, Health Systems Management, or related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in project administration, coordination, or healthcare programmes.
• Experience in healthcare, NGO, faith‑based, or institutional environments is an advantage.
• Demonstrated ability in project documentation, reporting, coordination, and stakeholder engagement.
• Professional qualifications such as CAPM, PRINCE2 Foundation, PMP, or similar are a plus.
