Purchase Officer - Import Procurement

About the role

Q-Sourcing Limited, trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec, is a manpower management solutions firm operating across Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and South Sudan. On behalf of its client, it is recruiting a competent, skilled and experienced Purchase Officer for import procurement in Nairobi. The role aims to deliver measurable cost savings, ensure reliable suppliers and efficient procurement cycles, protect uninterrupted production and comply with procurement policies.

Key responsibilities

• Procure MRO and spares on time according to production plans, and identify, develop and benchmark vendors with negotiated pricing and terms.
• Evaluate vendor performance on defect rate, OTIF, cost, delivery and purchase returns.
• Draft, evaluate and finalise AMC, rate and job/work contracts, and monitor their execution and closure.
• Run should-cost analysis, annual rate contracts and cost-saving measures such as alternate vendors, value engineering, consolidation, bulk buying and import substitution.
• Follow procurement SOPs, maintain audit and statutory compliance, and document processes for audits and ISO.
• Work with production, maintenance, stores, finance, logistics and IT to run the PR to PO cycle, prepare MIS reports, run spend analysis and clear out non-moving stock.
• Meet performance targets, take corrective action where needed, follow the annual leave plan and HR policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Commerce or a related field.
• Professional certification in procurement (e.g. CIPS) is an added advantage.
