Quality Assurance Analyst

About the role

The Quality Assurance Analyst will ensure that Absa’s banking products, systems and processes meet the highest quality standards and regulatory requirements. Working closely with product managers, developers and business users, you will help prevent defects, improve product reliability and deliver an excellent customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Review business requirements, functional specifications, user stories and technical designs to identify gaps, ambiguities and testability.
• Develop comprehensive test plans, detailed test cases, test scripts and prepare test data and environments.
• Execute functional, system, integration, regression, end‑to‑end, sanity and smoke testing, and support user acceptance testing.
• Log, prioritize and track defects, collaborate with development teams for resolution and perform retesting.
• Support automation testing by maintaining automated test scripts and analysing results.
• Ensure compliance with testing standards, participate in quality audits and release‑governance processes.
• Provide regular test progress reports and communicate status to stakeholders.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Experience in reviewing requirements and designing test scenarios.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
• Good understanding of software development life‑cycle and quality assurance best practices.
