Quality Assurance Supervisor (Fixed‑term)

About the role

The Quality Assurance Supervisor will oversee compliance and quality assurance processes at the macadamia processing factory, from raw material receipt through to product dispatch, ensuring all internal, legal and customer requirements are met.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee raw material intake checks, verify quality of incoming nuts and packaging materials.
• Manage hourly sampling at critical processing stages (cracking, sorting, drying) and enforce sensory analysis protocols.
• Authorize hold/release decisions for batches that fail moisture or contamination specifications.
• Conduct independent verification of Critical Control Point (CCP) records and monitor Operational Prerequisite Programs.
• Supervise QA and sanitation inspectors, maintain training matrices, and allocate shift rotas to ensure continuous coverage.
• Review laboratory results, grading reports and packaging compliance before product release.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Food Science, Food Technology or related field.
• Minimum 2 years experience in food quality assurance, preferably in macadamia processing.
• Proven people‑management experience, with ability to train and coach inspection teams.
• Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a cross‑functional team.
