Receiving Supervisor

About the role

Essential Drugs and Supplies (MEDS), a faith-based health solutions provider founded by the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops and the Christian Health Association of Kenya, is looking for a Receiving Supervisor. The role reports to the Warehouse and Logistics Manager and coordinates all inbound operations for both commercial business and donor-funded projects, ensuring accurate, timely processing and efficient management of goods and supplier interactions.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate receipt, verification and system entry of commercial and donor-funded consignments
• Supervise receiving and inbound warehouse operations and warehouse procedures
• Coordinate verification and processing of supplier invoices and inbound returns
• Maintain accurate records of received goods and coordinate their release for quality inspection
• Assess workload and recommend temporary staffing for special projects
• Supervise and coach receiving staff, including leave scheduling
• Implement and improve the Quality Management System and recommend process improvements
• Monitor supplier deliveries and verify goods against purchase orders, including batch numbers, expiry dates and product specifications

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Commerce or a related field
• Diploma in Pharmacy
• Minimum five years of experience in a busy pharmaceutical or FMCG warehouse, three in a supervisory role
• Supervisory, communication, problem-solving and analytical skills, with integrity and attention to detail

Required skills

• Knowledge of occupational safety standards and practices
• Data analysis
• Proficiency with MS Office and use of an ERP system
