Recruitment and Training Officer

About the role

The Recruitment and Training Officer will lead the identification, screening, onboarding and capacity‑building of franchisees who will operate retail outlets in rural and last‑mile locations. Based in Nairobi, the role involves extensive travel to remote areas to ensure franchisees have the knowledge, skills and tools needed for successful shop management.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, screen and shortlist qualified franchise candidates.
• Design and deliver training programs that cover business mindset, operational tools and practical shop‑management skills.
• Onboard new franchisees and provide ongoing field support.
• Collaborate with internal teams and community stakeholders to grow a high‑performing franchise network.
• Travel regularly to rural and remote locations to assess training effectiveness and provide hands‑on assistance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Entrepreneurship, Business Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in recruitment, learning & development, entrepreneurship training, franchise management, sales, community development or field operations.
• Proven ability to design and facilitate adult‑learning programmes.
• Strong interviewing, assessment, coaching and mentoring capabilities.
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Analytical mindset to measure training impact and improve outcomes.
• Willingness to travel extensively and work in remote, last‑mile environments.
• Fluency in English and Kiswahili; knowledge of local languages is a plus.
