Regional Finance Business Partner, East Africa

About the role

LIONPRO is seeking a Regional Finance Business Partner to support the East Africa Regional Director across Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Uganda. The role provides commercial insight, financial analysis and coordination with Group Finance to enable profitable, sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the Regional Director on revenue, margin, EBITDA, working capital and cash‑flow decisions, translating numbers into actionable business steps.
• Lead regional budgeting, forecasting and scenario planning, aligning assumptions across four markets and surfacing deviations early.
• Analyse pricing, profitability and margin leakage by customer, product, channel and market, including landed cost and FX sensitivity.
• Build financial frameworks for the Kenya hub and retail expansion, covering unit economics, capex, operating‑cost models, break‑even, cash‑flow and funding requirements.
• Prepare and challenge business cases for new ventures, assessing returns, risks and capital needs.
• Forecast working capital and cash flow, flagging financing needs to Group Treasury.
• Transform regional finance requirements into SAP, reporting, BI and planning initiatives, supporting adoption of Group processes.

Required profile

• Strong commercial‑finance and business‑partnering experience, preferably multi‑country, with proven financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, pricing and investment analysis skills.
• Ability to move between strategy and numbers, challenge senior stakeholders constructively and explain complex issues simply.
• Broad finance judgement to frame accounting, tax, treasury and control questions for specialists.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel / financial modelling
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP
• Familiarity with Business Intelligence (BI) and financial‑planning tools
