Registered Clinical Officer

About the role

The Registered Clinical Officer will provide comprehensive primary‑care services at Focus Clinical and Diagnostics Center in Westlands, Kenya. Working closely with senior consultants, you will assess patients, manage treatments, and contribute to the centre’s commitment to high‑quality, evidence‑based healthcare.

Key responsibilities

• Take patient histories, perform physical examinations and order appropriate investigations.
• Apply Ministry of Health (MOH) treatment guidelines to promote rational drug use.
• Manage emergencies, determine when referrals are required, and document all care in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Educate patients through counselling, health talks and promotion of prevention and early detection.
• Participate in clinical research, continuous medical education (CME) activities and quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with consultants to develop optimal treatment plans for specialised cases.
• Contribute to the review and development of policies, procedures and best‑practice guidelines.

Required profile

• Registered Clinical Officer qualification.
• Minimum 3 years (36 months) of relevant clinical experience.
• Mid‑level professional with a strong understanding of MOH guidelines.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced clinic environment and handle emergencies.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
• Competence in ordering and interpreting diagnostic investigations.
• Knowledge of Ministry of Health treatment protocols.
