Registered Nurse for Campus and Community Dispensary

About the role

The Startup Lions health team is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver safe, compassionate care at the campus clinic and the Loropio Dispensary in Turkana. The role supports preventive, curative and promotive health services in line with Ministry of Health guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments, record vital signs and medical history.
• Provide nursing care for minor ailments, chronic conditions and emergencies, including medication, injection and vaccine administration.
• Deliver maternal and child health services, such as antenatal and post‑natal care.
• Educate the community on hygiene, nutrition, family planning and disease prevention; participate in immunisation programmes and outreach activities.
• Maintain accurate patient records, manage medical supplies and support routine reporting and audits.
• Adhere to Ministry of Health protocols, infection‑prevention guidelines and professional ethics.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with a valid Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) licence.
• Diploma in Nursing from a recognised institution.
• Minimum two years of clinical experience, preferably in a dispensary or community health setting.
• Knowledge of public‑health practices, immunisation schedules and record‑keeping.
