Relationship Manager, Priority Banking

About the role

Standard Chartered Bank is hiring a Relationship Manager for its Priority Banking business in Nairobi. The role holds high-profile client portfolios and wealth management services, and is responsible for building strong client relationships that drive portfolio growth, revenue per client and cost management. The position is full time and management level.

Key responsibilities

• Engage clients through calls, virtual meetings, webinars and email, with analytics-backed conversations
• Deep sell individual banking products such as personal loans, current and savings accounts and wealth products, and develop an account plan for at least 20% of the client base
• Meet clients virtually once a quarter, connect them with specialists and set up anchor products and cross-sells
• Refer leads to the Client Service Manager, and acquire new-to-bank clients, grow them to Assets Under Management qualified (4 million KES and above) and increase wealth penetration
• Manage risk, including anti-money laundering, and ensure products follow the right processing channels and turnaround times
• Assess governance arrangements, understand the regulatory framework and uphold the Group's code of conduct

Required profile

• CISI Level 1 certification
• Bancassurance certification
• Ability to engage affluent clients, communicate and present, negotiate and handle objections, and solve problems
