Remote Accounting Manager / Senior Accountant – Pack Leader

About the role

We are looking for a remote Accounting Manager / Senior Accountant to lead a pack of staff accountants supporting a U.S.-based accounting team. Based in Kenya, you will work full‑time with a strong overlap of U.S. business hours, providing high‑quality client financials and gradually taking on a client‑facing leadership role.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coach staff accountants, assigning, prioritising and monitoring their work.
• Own the quality and timeliness of client financial statements and reports.
• Identify accounting or operational issues, develop solutions and ensure implementation.
• Support Relationship Managers with client‑ready insights and financial analysis.
• Improve accounting workflows, systems and internal processes.
• Make sound accounting and operational judgement calls without constant escalation.
• Develop junior team members’ technical and professional capabilities.

Required profile

• At least 84 months (7 years) of progressive accounting experience.
• Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in an accounting environment.
• Strong understanding of accounting standards and financial reporting.
• Ability to work independently, solve problems and make decisions.
• Excellent communication skills and willingness to become increasingly client‑facing.
• Reliable internet connection and ability to maintain consistent overlap with U.S. business hours.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting principles and standards.
• Experience using accounting software and spreadsheet tools.
