Risk and Compliance Manager – Fixed Term (P-4) – Nairobi

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Risk and Compliance Manager (P-4) on a fixed‑term basis to support the Somalia Country Office while being outposted in Nairobi, Kenya. The role is central to safeguarding resources, ensuring programme integrity and maintaining donor confidence in a highly complex operating environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation and monitoring of risk management frameworks for the Somalia Country Office.
• Conduct risk assessments, identify mitigation measures and ensure compliance with UNICEF and UN policies.
• Provide financial assurance, oversee cash transfer processes and strengthen partner capacity for fiduciary compliance.
• Produce regular risk and compliance reports for senior management and donors.
• Support the Deputy Representative, Operations, in strategic decision‑making related to programme and operational risks.

Required profile

• Significant experience in risk management, compliance or fiduciary oversight, preferably in humanitarian or development settings.
• Strong knowledge of UN/UNICEF policies, donor regulations and financial assurance practices.
• Excellent analytical and reporting skills with the ability to work across multiple stakeholders.
• Proven ability to operate in high‑risk, complex environments.
