Sales Associate

About the role

Verena, a fashion shop in Nairobi's Westlands, is recruiting a full-time Sales Associate. The role provides exceptional customer service to walk-in and online customers, helping them find clothing items and bags that match their style and needs. The position works six days a week.

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers and understand their fashion preferences and needs
• Recommend clothing, accessories and bags and give styling advice
• Show knowledge of fabrics, sizes, colours and current trends
• Keep the shop clean, organised and visually appealing, and maintain merchandise in good condition
• Process transactions accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system
• Handle customer queries and complaints professionally, escalating issues to management when needed
• Promote and cross-sell by staying up to date with promotions, sales events and new arrivals
• Work with the team to meet sales targets and take part in training programmes

Required profile

• College diploma or equivalent; fashion merchandising or retail management study is a plus
• Retail sales experience, preferably in fashion
• Passion for fashion and a keen eye for style trends
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays

Required skills

• Basic math skills
• Proficiency with POS systems
