Sales Executive

About the role

Career Directions Limited (CDL) is hiring a full-time Sales Executive in the Nairobi area. The role drives acquisition of new customers, growth of revenue and expansion of product and service adoption, while managing assigned customer accounts. It works closely with the Technical, Customer Service, Finance, Marketing and Operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities, build a healthy pipeline of qualified prospects and convert them into paying customers
• Negotiate commercial terms within approved guidelines, cross-sell and upsell, and achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets
• Coordinate customer onboarding, manage key and strategic accounts and drive product adoption
• Maintain an accurate sales pipeline in the CRM or sales management system, with deal values, expected closure dates and next actions
• Keep up-to-date knowledge of products, pricing and competitors, and give feedback to management on market trends
• Prepare sales reports, keep records of customer information and sales activities, and report on performance and pipeline
• Work with Technical, Finance, Marketing and Operations teams, and ensure compliance with company policies and ethical conduct

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Business Management, Marketing, Sales, Commerce, Information Technology or a related field
• 2-3 years of proven B2B sales experience, preferably software, technology, SaaS, ERP, fintech, payments or similar solutions
• Track record of achieving sales or revenue targets
• Experience in prospecting, lead generation, sales presentations, negotiations and closing deals
• Professional sales certification such as CPSA is an added advantage

Required skills

• CRM or sales pipeline management tools
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Industry-specific knowledge of the company's products and markets is an added advantage
