Sales Lead – FMCG

About the role

The Sales Lead will manage the sales function for Greenforest Foods, overseeing strategy execution, team performance, market expansion, collections and brand visibility across General and Modern Trade channels.

Key responsibilities

• Own annual and monthly sales targets by value, volume, SKU and territory, delivering or exceeding them.
• Develop and execute sales plans, including territory mapping, route optimisation and channel strategy.
• Recruit, train, develop and coach Customer Representatives and Merchandisers, setting KPIs and conducting weekly field accompaniments.
• Support market expansion by opening new towns, appointing distributors and managing Modern Trade accounts such as Naivas, Quickmart, Carrefour and Chandarana.
• Own cash collection, enforce credit limits with Finance, and manage credit risk, collections and overdue accounts.
• Submit weekly and monthly reports on sales patterns, competitor activity and market intelligence to the CEO and Operations Director.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Sales and Marketing, Business, Commerce or related field; Master’s degree or professional marketing certification is a plus.
• Minimum 7 years FMCG sales experience, including at least 3 years in a senior sales management role.
• Proven track record in both General Trade and Modern Trade in Kenya.
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel outside Nairobi for up to 40% of working time.
