Sales & Marketing Manager – Microfinance (Nairobi)

About the role

The Sales & Marketing Manager will lead the development and execution of sales and marketing strategies for a community‑focused micro‑finance institution in Nairobi. The role involves driving loan portfolio growth, enhancing brand visibility and managing client relationships across the local community.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement strategic sales plans to exceed growth targets and lead a high‑performing sales team.
• Drive customer acquisition through field visits, referrals, community partnerships and outreach initiatives.
• Develop and execute marketing campaigns, manage social media, local activations and events to build brand awareness.
• Conduct market research, competitor analysis and provide insights for product development.
• Oversee client interactions, ensure high satisfaction, manage feedback, complaints and retention strategies.
• Monitor sales pipeline, prepare performance reports and manage sales and marketing budgets.
• Provide market feedback to business development for new product creation and promote new offerings to the market.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field.
• 3–5 years proven experience in sales and marketing within micro‑finance or credit industry.
• Valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a sales team.
• Strong understanding of micro‑finance products, credit risk and financial regulations.
• Track record of meeting or exceeding sales and revenue targets.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
