Security Officer – Luxury Hotel

About the role

Hyatt Regency Nairobi is seeking professional, vigilant and service‑oriented Security Officers to protect guests, colleagues, property and assets within an international luxury hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a visible and professional security presence throughout the hotel.
• Conduct regular patrols of guest areas, back‑of‑house areas, perimeter areas and other designated locations.
• Monitor access points and ensure appropriate access control procedures are followed.
• Monitor CCTV and report suspicious activity or security concerns.
• Respond promptly and professionally to incidents, emergencies and requests for assistance.
• Assist with emergency response, evacuation procedures and security drills.
• Maintain accurate security logs, occurrence books and incident reports.
• Support investigations and preserve relevant information or evidence when required.
• Monitor guest, colleague, contractor and visitor movement in accordance with hotel procedures.
• Assist with crowd control, events, VIP movements and other high‑occupancy situations.
• Enforce hotel security procedures while maintaining a courteous, service‑focused approach.
• Work closely with other hotel departments to identify and address potential security risks.

Required skills

• Basic computer literacy.
• Knowledge of security procedures, access control, incident reporting and emergency response.
