Security Personnel - Critical Infrastructure Plant

About the role

Stratostaff East Africa is recruiting a full-time Security Personnel for a plant in Nairobi. The postholder enforces access control, patrols the site, monitors security systems and acts as first responder to incidents, while ensuring compliance with the Private Security Regulation Act, the Energy Act and EPRA guidelines on critical energy infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Enforce access control at the main gate and all entry points, verifying identification of staff, contractors and visitors against the Security Standing Orders.
• Carry out regular foot and mobile patrols of the perimeter fence, turbine halls, switch yards, control rooms and fuel storage areas, looking for intrusion, safety hazards or suspicious activity.
• Operate and monitor CCTV, intruder alarms and perimeter intrusion detection systems.
• Act as first responder to security or safety incidents and write clear incident reports and daily occurrence books.
• Ensure security operations comply with the Private Security Regulation Act, Energy Act and EPRA guidelines.
• Take part in regular security and safety drills and help implement the Emergency Response Plan with the HSE department.

Required profile

• At least three years of proven experience in a disciplined force within a high-risk or critical infrastructure facility such as a power plant, airport, refinery or large bank.
• KCSE mean grade D+ and above.
• A Diploma in Security Management or Criminology from a recognised institution is an added advantage.
• Valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
• Additional training in security or safety is an added advantage.
