Senior Associate – Financial and Grants Management

About the role

PwC is seeking a Senior Associate to lead financial and grant management activities for donor‑funded programmes in Kenya. You will work closely with governments, development partners and NGOs to ensure robust financial controls, compliance and effective fund disbursement.

Key responsibilities

• Support and manage donor‑funded programmes, including fund design, governance and reporting.
• Design and implement fund governance structures, financial controls and risk‑management frameworks.
• Oversee grant‑making processes, fund disbursements and ensure compliance with donor fiduciary standards.
• Provide financial advisory and accounting services for large‑scale projects.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow management and financial reporting.
• Collaborate with governments, multilateral and bilateral partners, NGOs and foundations.
• Conduct financial analysis, monitoring, evaluation and learning for development programmes.
• Prepare research and policy analysis related to public financial management and climate‑finance structures.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in finance, public financial management, accounting, economics, business administration, international development or a related field.
• Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA or CFA are highly desirable.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in financial advisory, fund management or development consulting.
• Proven experience managing donor‑funded programmes and grant‑making processes.
• Experience working with governments, multilateral/bilateral development partners, NGOs or professional services firms.
• Experience designing fund governance structures, financial controls and risk‑management frameworks.
