Senior Commercial Manager – Southern & Eastern Africa

About the role

Roll Group is seeking a Senior Commercial Manager to drive commercial growth across Southern and Eastern Africa. You will work closely with clients, Managing Directors and global teams to secure complex transport and logistics projects, strengthening the company’s market position.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and expand relationships with existing and potential clients, understanding their needs and showcasing Roll Group’s value.
• Develop and execute an annual client‑visit schedule for the region, reviewing progress quarterly with Managing Directors.
• Identify, develop and pursue new business opportunities from initial contact through tendering, contract negotiation and hand‑over to Operations.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Legal and other commercial teams to create technically feasible and commercially competitive solutions.
• Provide market intelligence, support account development and shape commercial strategy for the African business.
• Mentor colleagues and assist Managing Directors in growing the regional footprint.

Required profile

• Proven commercial experience in project logistics, heavy transport or project cargo shipping.
• Strong network and technical understanding of complex transport and lifting projects.
• Ability to manage the full sales cycle, from opportunity identification to contract finalisation.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset for cross‑functional teamwork.
