Senior Consultant – Global Health Advisory

About the role

Azura Sankofa Advisory (ASA) seeks a senior consultant to provide part‑time technical and business‑development support as it builds its pipeline and prepares for its first funded engagements. The role focuses on winning work, producing high‑quality proposals, and overseeing delivery once contracts are secured.

Key responsibilities

• Business development: build and convert a pipeline of government, donor and foundation opportunities in coordination with MSH’s teams.
• Lead the development of country‑owned concept notes and proposals, translating discussions into compelling technical offers.
• Provide senior technical advisory across health financing, public financial management, health‑systems strengthening, governance and digital transformation.
• Reorganise and strengthen the consultant roster, recommending qualifications, capabilities and staffing needs.
• Support technical inception, review key deliverables and capture lessons learned during engagements.
• Assist the Managing Director with delivery planning, client engagement and drawing MSH expertise into ASA work.

Required profile

• At least 10 years’ experience in global health, health financing, public financial management, governance or advisory services, with senior technical experience.
• Proven track record of winning and delivering donor‑ and government‑funded projects and writing successful proposals.
• Experience supporting projects across East and West Africa and ability to navigate diverse cultural, regulatory and political environments.
• Credibility with senior government officials and funders, and commitment to country‑led reform.
• Experience building consultant rosters, staffing models or proposal processes and strong project‑management discipline.
• Excellent written and spoken English; additional language skills are a plus.
