Senior Coverage Officer (East Africa)

About the role

The Senior Coverage Officer will lead customer relationship management and deal origination across East Africa for Trade and Development Bank Group. Reporting to the COO, East Africa, the role focuses on building deep client relationships, identifying financing needs, and delivering tailored banking solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute country, sector and client strategies, creating detailed account plans.
• Identify client needs and cross‑sell the Group’s suite of products and services.
• Lead strategic discussions, prepare proposals and coordinate with product partners.
• Deliver revenue targets while managing credit, compliance and portfolio risks.
• Collaborate with credit, legal, compliance and portfolio teams to assess and mitigate risks.
• Prepare applications for the New Deal Forum and participate in term‑sheet negotiations.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in banking, finance or related fields.
• Proven track record in client acquisition, relationship management and deal origination.
• Strong understanding of credit and compliance risk frameworks.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Self‑motivated, results‑oriented and able to work independently.
