Senior Forward-Deployed Engineer

About the role

Accelera Digital Group is seeking a senior Forward‑Deployed Engineer to act as the dedicated technical engine and trusted advisor for a strategic enterprise client in Nairobi. You will own the end‑to‑end technical relationship, building proofs of concept, demos and solving integration challenges in real time.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical authority for the client, translating complex capabilities into strategic value.
• Identify technical gaps, partner with presales, and drive account expansion and new business opportunities.
• Design, scope and deliver custom demos, production‑grade prototypes and PoCs tailored to the client’s ecosystem.
• Work hands‑on with client engineering, security and infrastructure teams to create deployment pipelines, integrations and data flows, focusing on GCP.
• Debug and resolve deployment, infrastructure, integration or performance issues on the fly.
• Provide feedback to internal product and core engineering teams, advocating for features that boost enterprise adoption.

Required profile

• 10+ years of hands‑on software engineering, backend systems, cloud architecture or SRE experience.
• Executive presence – able to white‑board code with senior developers and present strategies to CTOs and VP‑level stakeholders.
• High autonomy, grit and a strong sense of ownership; you invent solutions without waiting for answers.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven track record of building deep trust with client engineering teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python, Java, TypeScript/Node.js, Rust or Golang.
• Deep experience with Google Cloud Platform, Docker, Kubernetes and modern CI/CD practices.
• Ability to design REST/gRPC APIs, microservices, enterprise security integrations (SAML, OAuth, VPCs) and data pipelines.
