Senior Lecturer – Epidemiology & Statistics (Grade 5a)

About the role

The South Eastern Kenya University seeks a Senior Lecturer (Grade 5a) specializing in Epidemiology and Statistics. The successful candidate will join the university’s academic staff to teach, supervise postgraduate research, and contribute to the institution’s research agenda.

Required profile

• Earned PhD in Epidemiology, Public Health or an equivalent discipline from a recognized university.
• Master’s degree in Epidemiology, Public Health or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in Public Health or equivalent.
• Minimum three years of university‑level teaching experience as a Lecturer Grade 6A, or six years of research/industry experience.
• At least 32 publication points, with a minimum of 24 points from refereed scholarly journals.
• Supervised at least three postgraduate students to completion.
• Registered with the relevant professional body, where applicable.
• Successful track record of attracting research or development funds.
• Demonstrated in‑depth knowledge in a specialized field or broad interdisciplinary expertise.
• Compliance with Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya on Leadership and Integrity (2010).
