About the role

The South Eastern Kenya University seeks a Senior Lecturer (Grade 5a) to teach and conduct research in Criminology and Social Justice. The successful candidate will join the university’s academic staff, contributing to curriculum development, student supervision, and scholarly output.

Required profile

Earned PhD in Criminology and Social Justice or an equivalent recognised qualification.
Master’s degree in Criminology and Social Justice or equivalent.
Bachelor’s degree in Criminology and Social Justice or equivalent.
Minimum three (3) years of university‑level teaching experience as Lecturer Grade 6A, or six (6) years of research/industry experience.
At least thirty‑two (32) publication points, with a minimum of twenty‑four (24) from refereed scholarly journals.
Supervised at least three (3) postgraduate students to completion.
Registered with the relevant professional body where applicable.
Demonstrated ability to attract research or development funding.
Compliance with Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya on Leadership and Integrity (2010).
