Senior Lecturer in Health Management, Informatics & Economics

About the role

The Senior Lecturer will teach health management, health informatics and health economics to undergraduate and graduate students at Amref International University. The role includes curriculum development, research, and academic service within the Department of Public Health.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, tutorials, seminars and skills‑based sessions in Public Health.
• Design, develop, review and implement curricula and syllabi.
• Develop, moderate and administer examinations.
• Provide academic advising, mentorship and supervision for postgraduate researchers.
• Participate in departmental, faculty and university committees and quality‑assurance activities.
• Conduct independent and collaborative research, publish in peer‑reviewed journals and manage research grants.

Required profile

• PhD in Public Health (Health Management, Informatics or Health Economics) or related discipline.
• At least five years of university teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• Demonstrated experience in curriculum design, postgraduate supervision and scholarly publication.
• Registration with relevant professional body where applicable.

Required skills

• Strong ICT skills, including use of learning and research management platforms.
• Proficiency in research methodology, grant writing and academic publishing.
