Senior Quality Engineer - Biomass

About the role

BURN is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to own product quality for its biomass cookstove portfolio. The role works closely with product design, engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure products meet quality and integrity standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve design drawings, 3D models, quality checklists, test procedures and specification sheets.
• Define inspection methods, acceptance criteria and maintain the central quality documentation database.
• Identify root causes of production issues, drive corrective actions and manage the corrective‑action tracker.
• Analyse quality data to spot trends, defects and process deviations.
• Mentor and train a team of quality engineers and technicians.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience, including at least 3 years in quality engineering.
• Hands‑on experience with sheet‑metal fabrication, stamping, welding, coating and assembly processes.
• Proven ability to lead, coach and develop quality staff.

Required skills

• Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and GD&T.
• Experience with quality tools: FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC, PPAP.
• Root‑cause analysis methods (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, Pareto) and CAPA management.
• Data analysis using Excel; Power BI or Minitab is a plus.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, document control systems and internal auditing.
• Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma principles; Green Belt preferred.
