Senior Relationship Officer – SME Banking

About the role

Working closely with the Business Growth & Development Manager, the Senior Relationship Officer SME will drive sales and business growth strategies while maintaining a high‑quality MSME portfolio. The role involves acquiring new clients, supporting Faulu business account openings, managing loan utilization, and building a sizable deposit and loan portfolio with an excellent client experience.

Key responsibilities

• Proactively market and generate business, focusing on deposit mobilisation, loan disbursement and overall revenue growth.
• Conduct regular client visits and calls to ensure relationship management and satisfaction.
• Cross‑sell Faulu products such as cheque books, mobile banking and digital platforms (Digi Cash, Internet Banking, USSD).
• Prepare credit appraisals and present them to the Branch Credit Committee for review.
• Monitor portfolio quality daily, initiate remedial actions and ensure timely loan recovery.
• Recruit, train and manage agency banking partners, ensuring compliance with banking policies.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience as a Universal Banker in MSME business.
• At least 3 years hands‑on lending experience.
• Strong business, credit and supervisory management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities; able to work as a team leader or player.
