Senior Technical Sales Executive – Manufacturing

About the role
The client, a global leader in labelling and packaging materials and solutions, is looking for a Senior Technical Sales Executive to manage and grow relationships with existing customers, converters, distributors and prospective clients in Kenya. The role focuses on promoting products, expanding the customer network, increasing market share and delivering high‑level technical and commercial support.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct market and customer‑needs analysis and develop sales strategies to meet revenue targets.
- Generate and follow up on sales leads, maintain a detailed opportunity pipeline and improve conversion rates.
- Develop and execute territory and key‑account plans to expand brand presence and grow the customer base.
- Maintain a minimum of four customer visits per day, submit visit reports and manage relationships with converters, distributors and channel partners.
- Prepare customer value propositions and provide regular reports on market trends, competitor activity and product performance.
- Participate in Sales and Operations Planning meetings, providing forecasts and identifying slow‑moving or obsolete stock.
- Negotiate pricing, discounts, rebates, credit terms and cash‑on‑delivery arrangements in line with company policies.
- Provide on‑site technical support, investigate complaints, diagnose product or application issues and coordinate corrective actions with quality, product and regional technical teams.
- Manage the end‑to‑end complaint process, ensuring records are created within 24 hours and outcomes communicated to customers.
- Maintain accurate customer, account, pricing and opportunity data in Salesforce and support credit control, marketing and digital programmes.
Required profile
- Relevant educational background in packaging, printing or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of packaging and labeling applications with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
- Understanding of the local Kenyan market and customer base is an advantage.
- Excellent communication, attention to detail, numerical ability and high computer literacy.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
