Senior Transport & Dispatch Supervisor

About the role

One Acre Fund’s Tupande unit in Kakamega is looking for a senior supervisor to lead its transport and dispatch operations. The role oversees internal and third‑party fleet activities, ensuring safety, cost efficiency and high service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily internal and third‑party transport operations, vehicle maintenance and driver assignments.
• Maintain the taxi vendor database, coordinate staff taxi requests and optimise route planning to reduce costs.
• Conduct weekly fleet safety inspections and quarterly checks for third‑party vehicles, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Reconcile transport invoices, track expenses in cost‑tracking sheets and generate weekly cost summaries for budget approval.
• Identify process improvements, mentor Senior Transport Officers and drive a high‑performance culture.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of experience directing fleet, dispatch or vendor logistics operations.
• Strong knowledge of transport compliance, safety standards and budgetary control.
• Proven ability to manage high‑volume, time‑sensitive logistical requests.

Required skills

• Advanced use of Fleet Management Systems (FMS) for utilisation tracking and reporting.
• Proficiency with Google Sheets for expense reconciliation and cost tracking.
• Experience in expense management and financial reporting for transport budgets.
• Workflow management of multi‑step approval flows and driver assignments.
