Software Support Engineer – Remote

About the role

Boost Technology is looking for a Software Support Engineer to act as the critical bridge between its engineering team and on‑the‑ground operations across Africa. Working remotely, you will troubleshoot technical issues, ship production fixes, and help scale a platform that serves thousands of informal retailers.

Key responsibilities

• Tri­age, diagnose, and resolve complex technical problems by investigating root causes in the codebase.
• Develop and deploy production‑ready fixes, tests, and platform enhancements using Python (Flask) and PostgreSQL.
• Own the QA and testing pipeline, creating automated test suites to prevent regressions and ensure reliability.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of experience in an engineering, product, or technical‑support role, preferably in a fast‑paced startup.
• Intermediate proficiency in Python (Flask) and SQL (PostgreSQL) with a strong desire to work on AWS‑hosted infrastructure.
• Excellent communication skills to translate technical requirements for non‑technical stakeholders across diverse cultures and time zones.
