Spare Parts Sales Associate

About the role

The Spare Parts Sales Associate will drive business growth for Janta Kenya by promoting automotive spare parts to garages, workshops, fleet owners and distributors across Westlands. This field‑based role focuses on building strong customer relationships and expanding market presence.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, develop and manage new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
• Promote products to garages, automotive workshops, mechanics, vehicle and PSV SACCOs, fleet owners, transport companies and spare‑parts dealers.
• Conduct regular field visits to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Demonstrate product features, benefits and correct installation practices where applicable.
• Increase product visibility and availability in garages, workshops and retail outlets.
• Develop and implement territory sales plans to meet revenue and volume targets.
• Follow up on inquiries, quotations and orders to ensure timely sales closure.
• Monitor customer stock levels and encourage timely replenishment.
• Collect market intelligence on competitors, pricing, customer preferences and industry trends.
• Support promotional campaigns, roadshows, trade exhibitions and product demonstrations.
• Collaborate with distributors to improve product availability.
• Ensure timely collection of customer payments in line with credit policies.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly sales activity and performance reports.
• Maintain accurate records of customer visits, sales pipeline and market feedback.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration or a related field.
• At least 2 years of field‑sales experience, preferably in automotive spare parts, lubricants, tyres or batteries.
• Experience selling to garages, mechanics, transport SACCOs, fleet operators or automotive distributors is highly desirable.
