SPH Supervisor – Harvesting Machinery Lead

About the role

The SPH Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, servicing, repair and deployment of Self‑Propelled Harvesters (SPH) to ensure high reliability, availability and safety during critical harvesting periods. The role also supports other mechanised field activities as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Execute work plans and operational procedures to maximise SPH efficiency and timely harvesting of Greenleaf.
• Plan and schedule daily deployment of SPH and other agricultural machinery.
• Maintain accurate performance and fuel‑use logs, analyse data and report cost‑benefit ratios to the Operations Manager.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance (PPM) and service calls to keep the fleet in optimal condition.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis of breakdowns, implement corrective actions and minimise downtime.
• Order spares and consumables in liaison with Stores, Fleet and Procurement managers to maintain optimal inventory levels.
• Identify skill gaps and organise training programmes for SPH mechanics and operators.
• Allocate tasks to mechanics and operators, enforce safety standards and ensure unsafe equipment is grounded until repaired.

Required profile

• Diploma in Agricultural, Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
• Over 5 years’ experience in fleet or plant maintenance within a busy agricultural or commercial setting.
• Hands‑on experience with diesel engines, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Supervisory or leadership training and Occupational Safety & Health (OSHA) knowledge are an advantage.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
