Store Officer

About the role

The Store Officer manages and maintains inventory so that goods are received, stored and dispatched accurately and on time. The role covers stock records, store operations and the flow of goods in and out of the facility. It suits someone with a strong background in inventory management, attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and movements, and receive, store and dispatch goods on time.
• Conduct regular stock counts and reconciliations, monitor stock levels and initiate reorders to avoid shortages.
• Arrange products for easy access, label and categorize them, and keep the storage area clean and safe.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly inventory reports, and keep records of goods received, stored and issued, including GRNs and stock issue vouchers.
• Inspect incoming goods for defects and damage, coordinate with suppliers or procurement teams on delivery issues, and ensure goods are handled properly.
• Liaise with procurement, suppliers and other departments on stock availability, and handle customer or departmental inquiries about inventory.
• Ensure the store meets health, safety and quality standards and monitor its security to prevent loss and pilferage.

Required profile

• Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in storekeeping, inventory management or warehouse operations.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, good communication and problem-solving skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in inventory management software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
