Strategic Content and Storytelling Manager – Africa Region

About the role

The Nature Conservancy is seeking a senior leader to shape and deliver its Africa‑wide content and storytelling strategy. This role will drive narrative development that highlights conservation impact, engages donors and partners, and aligns with regional priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and own the Africa content strategy, editorial vision and annual storytelling roadmap.
• Lead the creation of feature stories, long‑form articles, donor narratives, multimedia assets and impact reports.
• Collaborate with program, philanthropy, science and digital teams to identify and amplify high‑impact stories across the region.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, English or a related field.
• 8+ years of professional experience in content strategy, editorial leadership or storytelling, preferably in conservation, environmental or nonprofit sectors.
• Proven track record of producing high‑quality written and multimedia content for donor and partnership audiences.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating impactful storytelling, field reporting and stakeholder interviews.
• Excellent project‑management and collaboration skills across cultures, functions and time zones.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
