Strategic Planning Consultant

About the role

The Strategic Planning Consultant will lead and facilitate the development, review and implementation of Sabatia Eye Hospital’s multi‑year strategic plan, ensuring alignment across Clinical, Finance & Administration and Training departments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate the development, review and implementation of Sabatia Eye Hospital’s multi‑year strategic plan, aligning Clinical, Finance & Administration and Training departments.
• Conduct situational analyses, stakeholder consultations and needs assessments to define strategic priorities and resource allocation.
• Design performance‑measurement frameworks, develop implementation road‑maps and integrate outreach and training programmes into long‑term planning.
• Analyse operational data, prepare reports and presentations for senior leadership and guide workshops with management and staff.
• Advise on risk‑management, sustainability strategies and collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure realistic, measurable initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in strategic planning, organisational development and performance management within healthcare or non‑profit settings.
• Strong analytical and research abilities, including quantitative and qualitative data collection and interpretation.
• Expertise in project and change management, work‑plan development and stakeholder engagement.
• Financial and operational planning skills such as budgeting and resource optimisation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with experience facilitating workshops and preparing high‑level reports.
• Advanced degree in Public Health, Health Management, Business Administration, Strategic Management or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Prior experience in eye‑care, hospital or African non‑profit environments is an advantage.
