Tax Accountant - SME and Corporate Clients

About the role

An experienced tax professional is sought to lead tax compliance and advisory engagements for a portfolio of SME and corporate clients across Kenya. The role sits in the advisory team, working closely with the Head of Tax & Compliance and interacting directly with clients, from routine compliance filings to more complex advisory work.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review PAYE, VAT and corporate income tax filings for a portfolio of clients
• Advise clients on KRA compliance requirements, iTax processes and emerging regulatory changes
• Support tax audits and respond to KRA queries on behalf of clients
• Mentor junior associates on tax computation and filing standards
• Identify tax planning opportunities for clients within the bounds of Kenyan tax law

Required profile

• CPA-K or ACCA qualification (or final stages of completion)
• 3+ years of experience in tax compliance or advisory, ideally in a professional services firm
• Excellent attention to detail and client communication skills

Required skills

• Strong working knowledge of the Income Tax Act, VAT Act and iTax
• Comfortable working with Excel and accounting/ERP systems (Odoo experience a plus)
