Technical Supervisor - Security Systems

About the role

Q-Sourcing, a manpower management solutions firm operating across East Africa, is recruiting on behalf of its client in the security industry. The Technical Supervisor in Nairobi oversees the installation, servicing and maintenance of electronic security systems such as CCTV, access control and alarm systems.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure security systems are installed to agreed specifications and standards, delivering trouble-free, client-approved results.
• Oversee proactive and reactive maintenance according to agreed schedules and service level agreements.
• Enforce company and industry standards during installation, servicing and maintenance.
• Monitor installations for up to three months after completion through regular checks and supervisor feedback, and report status to management.
• Promote a high-quality, service-oriented image through professional conduct and customer interactions.
• Identify inefficiencies or gaps in service or product performance and support improvement solutions.
• Champion continuous improvement of systems, processes and services, within the company and with clients.
• Create a supportive work environment, give constructive feedback and recommend training and knowledge-sharing strategies.
• Manage technical escalations promptly and resolve system or application problems during peak times to minimise downtime.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, ICT or a related technical field.
• At least five years of experience in the electronics field.
• Sound working knowledge of security best practices and the legislation affecting the security role.
• Strong management, leadership and communication skills, with a track record of building trusted relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of multiple security functions and security-driven technology solutions.
• Working knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.
• Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices.
• Very good knowledge of technology-driven security solutions and a willingness to keep upgrading it.
