Temporary Specialized Educational Intervenor (CUPE 2331) – East & South

About the role

The York Catholic District School Board is seeking a Temporary Specialized Educational Intervenor (CUPE 2331) to support students with moderate to severe safety and physical needs across schools in the East and South regions. This itinerant, 10‑month assignment works under the direction of the school principal and focuses on implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to promote student safety and independence.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct support to K‑12 students with special needs, ensuring safe participation in classroom and school activities.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and monitor IEP interventions.
• Collect and report data on student progress and response to interventions.
• Adapt and employ a broad range of accommodations to meet individual safety and physical requirements.
• Travel to assigned schools within the preferred East and South geographical area as needed.

Required profile

• Experience working with students who have moderate to severe safety or physical needs.
• Ability to work independently under the supervision of a school principal.
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with teachers, families, and support staff.
• Flexibility to relocate or transfer between schools during the assignment.
