Transport Coordinator

About the role

A leading company in the Oil and Gas sector, represented by Stratostaff East Africa, is looking for a Transport Coordinator based in Nairobi. The role covers coordination of contracted transport to ensure fleet availability and distribution efficiency, monitoring of the contracted fleet and company light vehicles, and safety oversight through OBC (On Board Computer) controls.

Key responsibilities

• Plan annual transporter seminars and quarterly best-driver and quality-cycle meetings to review transporter KPIs
• Coordinate new truck creation in SAP so only approved trucks are added to the contracted fleet, collecting mandatory documentation first
• Manage the transport database and license status via the Track & Trace system, and prepare monthly analysis of STL rejections, product losses, fleet performance and age for the monthly business review
• Raise PRs for distribution services, process invoices in DMS, raise transporter debit/credit entries and help generate month-end SAP prebilling reports and finance period closure
• Schedule KPI meetings with transport contractors such as Technobrain and Controltec
• Monitor OBC violations and malfunctions on light and heavy vehicles, report them in real time and coordinate weekly, monthly and quarterly meetings with the Technobrain team
• Submit daily, weekly and monthly OBC analyses and generate OBC trails and data for accident and other exceptional reports

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Science or Commerce
• Minimum 2 years' experience in operations and logistics
• High level of numeric and analytical skills
• Team player and leader, self-motivated, with high integrity
