Van Salesman (FMCG)

About the role

Brites Management Services is hiring a full-time Van Salesman (VSM) for its FMCG business, based in Nairobi and covering Western Kenya and the Mt. Kenya region. The role combines sales, route delivery and customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Sell and promote FMCG products to existing and prospective customers, introduce new products and offers, and recruit new retail outlets
• Achieve daily, weekly and monthly sales targets and build strong customer relationships
• Deliver products accurately and on time, verify deliveries against invoices or delivery notes, handle returns and ensure goods are handled safely
• Display products well at outlets, respond to customer queries and complaints, and monitor stock levels and recommend replenishment
• Account for stock loaded onto the van, collect payments in line with credit policy and reconcile daily sales and collections
• Maintain the sales vehicle in a clean, safe, roadworthy condition and report maintenance needs
• Keep accurate records of sales, deliveries, collections and visits, submit daily, weekly and monthly reports, monitor competitors and follow company policies, health and safety and traffic regulations

Required profile

• Diploma or certificate in Sales & Marketing, Business Administration or a related field
• At least 3 years of experience as a Van Salesman selling FMCG products
• Previous experience with an FMCG distribution company is required
• Valid driving licence with good driving skills and a clean record

• Good communication, planning and route management skills
