Vehicle Condition Inspector

About the role

ACV Auctions is seeking an enthusiastic Vehicle Condition Inspector to join its growing team. You will be the face of the company, providing accurate vehicle assessments and clear communication to clients across multiple locations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles at dealerships, auctions, and off‑lease locations to identify damage, missing parts, and mechanical issues.
• Prepare detailed condition reports, including repair or replacement cost estimates and supporting documentation.
• Capture multiple overall and damage photos, match them to the vehicle, and upload them via the company‑issued smartphone.
• List inspected wholesale vehicles on the ACV Auctions platform for bidding and purchasing.
• Partner with Territory Managers and sales teams to upsell services and maintain strong dealer relationships.
• Travel to various sites, including dealerships and private homes, to perform inspections.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of experience in the automobile field (body, paint, or mechanical repair) with a customer‑service background.
• Ability to work outdoors for extended periods and perform manual labor (standing, lifting 25 lb+, bending, squatting).
• Valid driver’s license and access to a registered, insured vehicle.
• Strong problem‑solving aptitude and ability to work independently while collaborating with a team.
• Excellent English communication skills.
