Volunteer Accountant for Reproductive Health NGO in Kenya (4-6 weeks)

About the role

This volunteer position supports a rights‑based reproductive health NGO in Kenya by strengthening its financial management systems. Over a 4‑6 week period, you will work closely with senior leadership to review and improve finance processes, ensuring the organisation can scale while maintaining strong controls.

Key responsibilities

• Review and re‑validate existing standard operating procedures and finance manual.
• Recommend and draft updated finance and operations protocols that balance control with delegated authority.
• Collaborate with the team to create a new finance manual, including scripts and aids.
• Evaluate budgetary planning, develop budgets, and migrate them into QuickBooks Online for variance analysis.
• Refine systems for monthly management reports and dashboards.
• Assess data collection processes and design templates for monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, introducing automated dashboards.

Required profile

• Professional accounting background with experience in non‑profit or international development settings.
• Ability to work with senior leadership and cross‑functional teams.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
