Account Manager - Business Development (Mombasa)

About the role

A leading risk advisory and insurance brokerage firm, represented by its client through Stratostaff East Africa, is looking for an Account Manager - Business Development in Mombasa. Reporting to the Branch Manager, the role drives corporate business growth, acquires new clients, expands the general insurance portfolio and strengthens client relationships. It is a full-time, permanent position focused on revenue generation, client retention, tailored insurance solutions and excellent client experience.

Key responsibilities

• Identify new markets and corporate prospects, build sales pipelines, convert opportunities and meet agreed revenue and premium targets
• Promote general insurance solutions, find cross-selling and up-selling opportunities and grow the corporate client portfolio
• Build and maintain client relationships, manage accounts, drive renewals and retention, and ensure good service delivery
• Manage sales pipelines, prepare proposals and quotations, negotiate deals, keep accurate client records and monitor sales performance
• Follow up on premium payments, support timely collections, prepare business reports and ensure compliance with company policies and insurance regulations

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Insurance or a related field
• Professional insurance qualification (IIK or CII) is an added advantage
• 8 years of proven experience in corporate insurance sales, business development or account management
• Track record in new business acquisition, portfolio growth and meeting sales targets
• Experience managing corporate clients, renewals, premium collection and sales reporting
