Accountant – Accounting, Stock & Tax Compliance

About the role

Uliza Group is seeking an experienced, highly organised Accountant to manage day‑to‑day financial operations, stock control and statutory compliance. The successful candidate will work independently, maintain accurate records and support the finance and operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Process invoices, quotations and other financial documents; record and reconcile payments and receipts.
• Maintain accounts payable and receivable ledgers and prepare financial reports.
• Monitor customer accounts, follow up on outstanding balances and ensure proper documentation.
• Maintain accurate stock records, reconcile physical inventory with system data and investigate variances.
• Review and approve stock transfer requests, ensuring proper authorisation.
• Prepare and file monthly and annual statutory tax returns, liaise with authorities as needed.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Strong understanding of bookkeeping, invoicing and payment reconciliation.
• Experience with inventory reconciliation and stock transfer approval.
• Knowledge of statutory tax filing requirements.

Required skills

• Proficiency in standard accounting principles and practices.
• Ability to manage accounts payable and receivable.
• Competence in stock and inventory control processes.
• Familiarity with statutory tax compliance procedures.
