Accounting Specialist, Public Sector

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Specialist to join our public‑sector team, supporting municipalities and other government entities. The role is based in Nairobi, Kenya, and will involve working with a modern finance partner serving over 2,000 clients.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review bookkeeping, financial statements and tax filings for public‑sector clients.
• Provide consulting and advisory support on accounting processes and regulatory compliance.
• Communicate financial results and reports to client stakeholders.
• Collaborate with internal teams to improve processes and implement technology solutions.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in municipal or public‑sector accounting, either in a consultancy or in‑house role.
• Relevant academic background (e.g., Business Administration, Economics).
• Fluent Finnish and good English; additional language skills are a plus.
• Familiarity with electronic accounting systems and a proactive attitude toward AI and automation.
