Accounts Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a reliable, detail‑driven Accounts Assistant to support our finance department. This entry‑level position offers solid growth potential for candidates eager to start a career in finance or accounting.

Key responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and receivable transactions promptly.
• Enter daily financial records, vendor invoices, expense reports and receipts into accounting software.
• Assist with monthly bank, credit‑card and account reconciliations.
• Prepare, sort and organise supporting financial documentation and digital files.
• Follow up on outstanding receivables and support vendor payment processing.
• Support senior accounting staff with month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
• Respond to routine billing or payment inquiries from clients and suppliers.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field (or foundational certifications such as CPA Section 1/Foundations or ACCA Level 1).
• Strong basic understanding of fundamental accounting principles (debits, credits, general ledger, balance sheets).
• Exceptional numerical accuracy, high attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data entry, basic formulas, sorting).
• Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero or ERP modules.
